Classic Overachiever
I have always done better at school than I probably should have.
I’m not genius-level on the IQ chart
by any means (read: like my brother Josh).
However, when I try, I do really well. I went
into grad school with the attitude that anything
“C” or above would be acceptable to me.
(I thought “C’s” were the lowest grade
allowed; I have since found out that some
classes require a “B” to pass for my program.)
Anyway, once I got started in my class this fall,
my competitive nature took over, and I
(according to the professor) overworked every
single assignment. I ended up doing way more
work than was required, but grades came
yesterday, and I got:

An “A”!!! In case you’re wondering, the title
of the course was “Cognitive Behavioral Theories and
Methods in Counseling and Psychology.”
I could never remember. On tap for next semester,
Intro to Research (online, this one is going to kill
me; I have to begin developing my master’s thesis)
and Affective Psychology, which meets at the
Tech Center in Shawnee one night a week until 9:40 PM.
I really don’t know what is up with the formatting of this entry.
I typed it in Open Office and pasted and it’s a mess. Sorry.
