Get a Clue!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

On Wednesday, Kennedy exchanged one of her Candy Land games for Clue.  I tried to talk her out of it because I thought it would be too involved; the age was 9+, but after an hour at Wal-Mart, I threw it in the basket and said, “Let’s go!”
She and I played a bit last night, […]

Our Final Ho Ho Ho of 2008

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Today, we went to Lawton, okay Elgin, to do our final celebrations.  I wasn’t sure we’d even get to go because Kennedy threw up the day before, so we kind of played it by ear.  Thankfully, she felt up to it.  We went first to Papa Larry’s for lunch.  Everybody was there except Kylee, and […]

Christmas Day

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

This year, it just worked out that we were able to be home Christmas morning.  We went to mass Christmas Eve in Stroud, and then stayed for pizza at Mom’s, but the 25th, we were in our PJ’s, in our own home.  Kennedy LOVED it.  She waited until the appointed time, 7:00, before waking us; […]

We Went to the Lodge…The Great Wolfe Lodge…For Christmas!!!

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Walt posted a wonderful video of our trip, but I wanted to add my two cents, as usual.  After K.’s game on Saturday, we drove to Ft. Worth to stay at the Hampton.  It’s a new hotel with a saltwater pool that Kennedy calls “FANCY!”  We stayed there to maximize our play-time at Great Wolf […]

Basketball Cousin-Style

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Kennedy decided to give up gymnastics (for right now anyway) for little league basketball.  The first Saturday of Christmas Break, Kennedy played a game against her cousin Kylee, who goes to school in Jones.  It was so fun to watch and many family members made the trek to see cousin-vs.-cousin.  They never came close to […]

We’re Home

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

We’re back from Great Wolf Lodge (more on that later) but we have no hot water!  I guess we now know what that unsightly piece of insulation was that was nailed to the outside of our house was for.  Too bad we took it down last summer!

Babysitter

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I am so nervous!  Tomorrow night, we are having a teen (one who I implicitly trust) come over to our house and watch Kennedy while Walt and I go to dinner and (hopefully) finish Christmas shopping.  In six and a half years, we have never had a kid babysit for K.  I know she’ll do […]

12 Days of Christmas

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

We heard the song on the radio today and Kennedy said, “Oh, Oh, Oh, leave it on this song.  I heard it on a TV  commercial and I know it.”  I left it on that station and sang along merrily.  Kennedy sang, too, “…two turtle doves and a partridge in a pantry.”  That’s almost as […]
